Options
--automation-rules-arns (list)
A list of rule ARNs to get details for.
(string)
Syntax:
"string" "string" ...
--cli-input-json | --cli-input-yaml (string) Reads arguments from the JSON string provided. The JSON string follows the format provided by --generate-cli-skeleton. If other arguments are provided on the command line, those values will override the JSON-provided values. It is not possible to pass arbitrary binary values using a JSON-provided value as the string will be taken literally. This may not be specified along with --cli-input-yaml.
--generate-cli-skeleton (string) Prints a JSON skeleton to standard output without sending an API request. If provided with no value or the value input, prints a sample input JSON that can be used as an argument for --cli-input-json. Similarly, if provided yaml-input it will print a sample input YAML that can be used with --cli-input-yaml. If provided with the value output, it validates the command inputs and returns a sample output JSON for that command. The generated JSON skeleton is not stable between versions of the AWS CLI and there are no backwards compatibility guarantees in the JSON skeleton generated.
Global Options
--debug (boolean)
Turn on debug logging.
--endpoint-url (string)
Override command’s default URL with the given URL.
--no-verify-ssl (boolean)
By default, the AWS CLI uses SSL when communicating with AWS services. For each SSL connection, the AWS CLI will verify SSL certificates. This option overrides the default behavior of verifying SSL certificates.
--no-paginate (boolean)
Disable automatic pagination. If automatic pagination is disabled, the AWS CLI will only make one call, for the first page of results.
--output (string)
The formatting style for command output.
- json
- text
- table
- yaml
- yaml-stream
--query (string)
A JMESPath query to use in filtering the response data.
--profile (string)
Use a specific profile from your credential file.
--region (string)
The region to use. Overrides config/env settings.
--version (string)
Display the version of this tool.
--color (string)
Turn on/off color output.
- on
- off
- auto
--no-sign-request (boolean)
Do not sign requests. Credentials will not be loaded if this argument is provided.
--ca-bundle (string)
The CA certificate bundle to use when verifying SSL certificates. Overrides config/env settings.
--cli-read-timeout (int)
The maximum socket read time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket read will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.
--cli-connect-timeout (int)
The maximum socket connect time in seconds. If the value is set to 0, the socket connect will be blocking and not timeout. The default value is 60 seconds.
--cli-binary-format (string)
The formatting style to be used for binary blobs. The default format is base64. The base64 format expects binary blobs to be provided as a base64 encoded string. The raw-in-base64-out format preserves compatibility with AWS CLI V1 behavior and binary values must be passed literally. When providing contents from a file that map to a binary blob fileb:// will always be treated as binary and use the file contents directly regardless of the cli-binary-format setting. When using file:// the file contents will need to properly formatted for the configured cli-binary-format.
- base64
- raw-in-base64-out
--no-cli-pager (boolean)
Disable cli pager for output.
--cli-auto-prompt (boolean)
Automatically prompt for CLI input parameters.
--no-cli-auto-prompt (boolean)
Disable automatically prompt for CLI input parameters.
Examples
Note
To use the following examples, you must have the AWS CLI installed and configured. See the Getting started guide in the AWS CLI User Guide for more information.
Unless otherwise stated, all examples have unix-like quotation rules. These examples will need to be adapted to your terminal’s quoting rules. See Using quotation marks with strings in the AWS CLI User Guide .

Output
Rules -> (list)
A list of rule details for the provided rule ARNs.
(structure)
Defines the configuration of an automation rule.
RuleArn -> (string)
RuleStatus -> (string)
ENABLED , Security Hub starts applying the rule to findings and finding updates after the rule is created.RuleOrder -> (integer)
RuleName -> (string)
Description -> (string)
IsTerminal -> (boolean)
Criteria -> (structure)
A set of Amazon Web Services Security Finding Format finding field attributes and corresponding expected values that Security Hub uses to filter findings. If a rule is enabled and a finding matches the conditions specified in this parameter, Security Hub applies the rule action to the finding.
ProductArn -> (list)
The Amazon Resource Name (ARN) for a third-party product that generated a finding in Security Hub.
Array Members: Minimum number of 1 item. Maximum number of 20 items.
(structure)
A string filter for filtering Security Hub findings.
Value -> (string)
Security Hub . If you provide security hub as the filter value, there’s no match.Comparison -> (string)
The condition to apply to a string value when filtering Security Hub findings.
To search for values that have the filter value, use one of the following comparison operators:
- To search for values that include the filter value, use
CONTAINS. For example, the filterTitle CONTAINS CloudFrontmatches findings that have aTitlethat includes the string CloudFront. - To search for values that exactly match the filter value, use
EQUALS. For example, the filterAwsAccountId EQUALS 123456789012only matches findings that have an account ID of123456789012. - To search for values that start with the filter value, use
PREFIX. For example, the filterResourceRegion PREFIX usmatches findings that have aResourceRegionthat starts withus. AResourceRegionthat starts with a different value, such asaf,ap, orca, doesn’t match.
CONTAINS , EQUALS , and PREFIX filters on the same field are joined by OR . A finding matches if it matches any one of those filters. For example, the filters Title CONTAINS CloudFront OR Title CONTAINS CloudWatch match a finding that includes either CloudFront , CloudWatch , or both strings in the title.To search for values that don’t have the filter value, use one of the following comparison operators:
- To search for values that exclude the filter value, use
NOT_CONTAINS. For example, the filterTitle NOT_CONTAINS CloudFrontmatches findings that have aTitlethat excludes the string CloudFront. - To search for values other than the filter value, use
NOT_EQUALS. For example, the filterAwsAccountId NOT_EQUALS 123456789012only matches findings that have an account ID other than123456789012. - To search for values that don’t start with the filter value, use
PREFIX_NOT_EQUALS. For example, the filterResourceRegion PREFIX_NOT_EQUALS usmatches findings with aResourceRegionthat starts with a value other thanus.
NOT_CONTAINS , NOT_EQUALS , and PREFIX_NOT_EQUALS filters on the same field are joined by AND . A finding matches only if it matches all of those filters. For example, the filters Title NOT_CONTAINS CloudFront AND Title NOT_CONTAINS CloudWatch match a finding that excludes both CloudFront and CloudWatch in the title.You can’t have both a CONTAINS filter and a NOT_CONTAINS filter on the same field. Similarly, you can’t provide both an EQUALS filter and a NOT_EQUALS or PREFIX_NOT_EQUALS filter on the same field. Combining filters in this way returns an error. CONTAINS filters can only be used with other CONTAINS filters. NOT_CONTAINS filters can only be used with other NOT_CONTAINS filters.
You can combine PREFIX filters with NOT_EQUALS or PREFIX_NOT_EQUALS filters for the same field. Security Hub first processes the PREFIX filters, and then the NOT_EQUALS or PREFIX_NOT_EQUALS filters.
For example, for the following filters, Security Hub first identifies findings that have resource types that start with either AwsIam or AwsEc2 . It then excludes findings that have a resource type of AwsIamPolicy and findings that have a resource type of AwsEc2NetworkInterface .
ResourceType PREFIX AwsIamResourceType PREFIX AwsEc2ResourceType NOT_EQUALS AwsIamPolicyResourceType NOT_EQUALS AwsEc2NetworkInterface
CONTAINS and NOT_CONTAINS operators can be used only with automation rules. For more information, see Automation rules in the Security Hub User Guide .AwsAccountId -> (list)
The Amazon Web Services account ID in which a finding was generated.

The likelihood that a finding accurately identifies the behavior or issue that it was intended to identify. Confidence is scored on a 0–100 basis using a ratio scale. A value of 0 means 0 percent confidence, and a value of 100 means 100 percent confidence. For example, a data exfiltration detection based on a statistical deviation of network traffic has low confidence because an actual exfiltration hasn’t been verified. For more information, see Confidence in the Security Hub User Guide .

For more information, see Automation rules in the Security Hub User Guide .ResourceTags -> (list)

LOW - 40–69 -
MEDIUM - 70–89 -
HIGH - 90–100 -
CRITICAL
Product -> (double)
Label -> (string)
The severity value of the finding. The allowed values are the following.
-
INFORMATIONAL- No issue was found. -
LOW- The issue does not require action on its own. -
MEDIUM- The issue must be addressed but not urgently. -
HIGH- The issue must be addressed as a priority. -
CRITICAL- The issue must be remediated immediately to avoid it escalating.

Status -> (string)
The status of the investigation into the finding. The workflow status is specific to an individual finding. It does not affect the generation of new findings. For example, setting the workflow status to SUPPRESSED or RESOLVED does not prevent a new finding for the same issue.
The allowed values are the following.
-
NEW- The initial state of a finding, before it is reviewed. Security Hub also resetsWorkFlowStatusfromNOTIFIEDorRESOLVEDtoNEWin the following cases:- The record state changes from
ARCHIVEDtoACTIVE. - The compliance status changes from
PASSEDto eitherWARNING,FAILED, orNOT_AVAILABLE.
- The record state changes from
